The world-renowned Mississippi Mass Choir proudly announces its six Stellar Gospel Music Award nominations and one GMA Dove Award nomination, a fitting testament to the choir’s remarkable legacy and continued musical excellence.

The choir’s latest album, We Still Believe, featuring standout tracks that have resonated deeply with audiences worldwide, has earned recognition in the following Stellar Awards categories:

  • Choir of the Year

  • Traditional Choir of the Year

  • Traditional Album of the Year (We Still Believe)

  • Recorded Music Packaging of the Year

  • Special Event Album of the Year

  • Producer of the Year (Stan Jones, Jerry Mannery, Jerry Smith & David R. Curry, Jr.)

Additionally, The Promise has garnered a GMA Dove Award nomination for Traditional Gospel Album of the Year, further cementing the choir’s influence and reach.

The album’s single, “Only One Way Home,” featuring Paul Porter, became the second No. 1 single from We Still Believe on the Billboard Mediabase Gospel Airplay Charts—a rare and remarkable achievement that underscores the choir’s ability to deliver timeless, chart-topping music decades into its career.

Remarkably, the Mississippi Mass Choir received its first Stellar Awards nomination in 1988—the same year of the choir’s debut—and nearly forty years later, continues to be recognized among gospel music’s top honors. This sustained acclaim is a testament to the choir’s unwavering commitment to faith, musical excellence, and ministry.

Jerry Mannery, Executive Director of the Mississippi Mass Choir, reflected on the significance of this moment:

“We are deeply humbled and grateful for these nominations. From our very first Stellar nod in 1988 to now, our mission has remained unchanged—to sing songs that uplift, encourage, and glorify God. These honors are for every choir member, musician, producer, and supporter who has stood with us. Above all, we give God the glory for allowing us to share the Gospel through song for over 35 years.”

The Stellar Awards, often called the “Grammys of Gospel Music,” will take place on Friday, August 16 at the Schermerhorn Symphony Center in Nashville, TN, celebrating the best in gospel music. The GMA Dove Awards will be held in Nashville at the Bridgestone Arena on October 7, 2025, honoring achievements across all Christian and gospel music genres.
