Millsaps College has once again been recognized as a national leader in supporting transfer students, earning a place on the Phi Theta Kappa Transfer Honor Roll for the third year in a row. This honor, awarded to just 251 colleges and universities nationwide, celebrates institutions that demonstrate dynamic pathways and outstanding outcomes for community college transfer students.

The PTK Transfer Honor Roll is based on 40 key metrics related to transfer student success, including cost and financial aid, campus engagement, admissions practices, and bachelor’s degree completion rates. Recognized schools ranked in the top 25% of those rated through PTK Connect, a national platform that helps students identify transfer-friendly institutions.

Millsaps Vice President for Enrollment and Admissions, Aaron Pelch, praised the recognition and reaffirmed Millsaps’ deep commitment to transfer students.

“Transfer students are some of the most dynamic, driven people we meet. They bring unique experiences, fresh perspectives and a real spark to our campus,” said Pelch. “At Millsaps, we don’t just welcome them, we celebrate them.

“Being recognized by Phi Theta Kappa for the third year in a row is a reminder that we’re on the right path, and we’re doubling down on our efforts to bring even more of these incredible students into our family.”

The 2025 Transfer Honor Roll recipients delivered some impressive results with a 75 percent completion rate for bachelor’s degrees among transfers and an average of 81 percent of earned credits successfully applied to degree programs.

PTK President and CEO Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner commended this year’s honorees for their clear dedication to transfer success.

“I’m proud of the transfer outcomes we’re seeing at these Honor Roll colleges,” said Dr. Lynn Tincher-Ladner, president and CEO of Phi Theta Kappa. “These colleges are doing more than just opening doors—they’re walking students through them. Their commitment to creating clear, supportive pathways demonstrates what’s possible when student success is truly the priority.”

Millsaps encourages students from community colleges across the country to explore the personalized support, academic excellence and inclusive campus life that earned it this recognition, for the third time running.
